Why homeowners call us back
The owner is on the roof, not in a showroom
Snap Roofing & Gutters is a Brooklyn roofing and gutter contractor, and that word — contractor, not broker — is the whole difference. Most roofing companies that knock on your door in Brooklyn are selling you a job someone else will do. We're the crew. The person who quotes your roof is the person standing on it when the old layers come off, which is the only moment you find out what the deck underneath actually looks like.
- We tear off to the deck instead of laying new shingles over old ones
- Rotten plywood gets replaced and shown to you before it's covered up
- Ice-and-water shield in the valleys and along every eave, not just where it's visible
- Photos before, during and after — so you can see what you paid for
- Your landscaping gets covered and the property gets magnet-swept before we leave
From first call to final sweep
How a job actually goes
Four steps, no surprises in the middle.
You call or text
Send a photo of the stain or the roof. We'll tell you honestly whether it sounds like a repair, a section, or a full replacement before anyone comes out.
We get on the roof
Free inspection. We go up, find the real entry point, and photograph it. You get the pictures whether or not you hire us.
One written number
A written scope with materials, warranty and price. If we think a $600 repair buys you five more years, we'll say that instead of selling you a roof.
We build it and clean up
Most homes are one to three days. Property protected, debris hauled, magnet-swept for nails, and a walkthrough with you at the end.
Brooklyn specifics
We know what leaks around here
Brooklyn roofs fail in predictable places. Parapet walls that were never properly counter-flashed. Row house seams where two buildings meet and neither owner wants to pay for it. Rear-extension transitions. Scuppers and internal drains that were undersized when the block was built in 1928 and haven't been touched since.
Those are the jobs we do most weeks, which is why we usually find the source on the first visit instead of the third.
The other half of the name
Gutters aren’t an afterthought here
Most roofing companies treat gutters as a line item they’d rather skip. We put it in the name, because a roof with bad gutters isn’t a finished roof — it’s a wall problem and a basement problem waiting to happen.
- Seamless aluminum formed on site, so there are no joints to split open
- 6" gutters and oversized leaders where the roof actually needs them
- Rotted fascia repaired before the new gutter goes up, not around it
- Drip edge installed — most Brooklyn homes don’t have it
- Copper and half-round profiles for brownstones and landmark blocks
Doing gutters with the roof costs less than doing them separately, and it means one crew owns the whole water path from ridge to ground.

Questions we get every week
How much does a new roof cost in Brooklyn?
Most Brooklyn homes land between $9,000 and $22,000 for a full architectural shingle replacement, and flat roof replacements on a standard row house typically run $7,000 to $16,000. The spread comes down to square footage, how many layers have to come off, whether the plywood decking underneath is sound, and access. We measure the roof, look under the existing surface where we can, and give you one written number that covers everything.
Do you charge for an estimate or an inspection?
No. Estimates and leak inspections are free, including going up on the roof to find the actual source. You get photos of what we found and a written scope before you decide anything.
How fast can you get to an active leak?
Usually same day or next morning. Text a photo of the ceiling stain or the roof to (917) 772-1782 and we can often tell you over the phone whether it needs an emergency tarp or can wait for a proper dry-day repair.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Snap Roofing Construction Corp. is a licensed and insured roofing contractor. We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we'll send certificates directly to your managing agent or co-op board if they need them on file.
Do you handle both flat roofs and shingle roofs?
Both, plus the mixed roofs that are everywhere in Brooklyn: a flat main roof with a pitched front mansard, or a shingle roof over a flat rear extension. That transition is the most common leak point in the borough and it's the detail most crews get wrong.
